Working his way through the pack, Villopoto was charging through the field to catch the front-runners. On Lap 3, the Washington native and James Stewart collided in the corner after the whoops section, causing both riders to go down. With damage to his bike, Villopoto was forced to pull into the mechanics area for repairs. He recovered to finish ninth.

Good Luck to No Luck, Villopoto Heads to Canada 7 Points Up

After a putting himself into good position all year, Villopoto wasn’t able to find the same fortune in Jacksonville. In the heat race, Villopoto went down after a rider crashed in front of him, leaving him nowhere to go. Lucky to ride off uninjured, he lined up for the LCQ. He got a good jump, but as everyone funneled into the first turn, Villopoto got pushed off he track and came around outside the top-10. He was unable to move into the top-two positions during the short six-lap race.

Villopoto Takes Fifth Win in Indianapolis and Significantly Extends Points Lead

INDIANAPOLIS (March 12, 2011) – Tonight, 60,789 fans greeted the 10th race of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, in Indianapolis as Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto, of Poulsbo, Wash., won his fifth race of the season. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Villopoto Goes Back-to-Back in Daytona

Irvine, Calif. – Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto became the first rider since 2003 to race for back-to-back victories at the Daytona Supercross at Daytona International Speedway. The night led to Villopoto stretching his points lead to 23 over second place in the championship standings.
